The Art of Acceptance, Blue Period Zine
Blue Period is a manga series written by Tsubasa Yamaguchi, in which the story follows Yaguchi Yatora discovering his love for art in his last years of highschool. As the story progresses, we see how his passion for art redirects his life. It changes the way he sees people, the world, and himself. The very core of the series, as it begins, is how his discovery of art reveals his weaknesses and lets him face himself, and lets him come out the other side with a greater understanding. We know why he's doing what he is, we know what it means to him, we can understand what we'll get out of it, and we can follow the journey piece by piece as he does. My zine addresses his initial personal insecurities and weaknesses from the beginning of his journey and how he seems to overcome them slowly near the end.
